Marigold is inspired by Owen Jones’ The Grammar of Ornament, a folio of decorative patterns and motifs collected from diverse cultures and time periods published in 1856. Marigold reinterprets this classic work by creating a “grammar” of ornament inspired by the forms of the plant kingdom. Use its modular pieces to create your own custom borders and compositions.
There are several types of glyphs in Marigold—buds, trees, connectors, and border corners. Connect different buds with the connectors to form borders, and sprinkle in some trees to complete your composition.
